Daniel Enkaoua was born in 1962 in Meaux, France to an orthodox Jewish family.
At the age of 19 he immigrated to Israel and settled in Jerusalem, where he studied the Talmud. Two years later he moved to a Kibbutz and began to study painting at the Avni Institute in Tel Aviv. After his graduation he returned to Jerusalem, where he currently lives and works.
Enkaoua has managed to attain a unique and distinctive style, remarkable for its perception of light and colour.
